Abstract
Tourism and the company are in a mutual symbiotic interconnection. On several selected examples, the paper presents how the level of current Czech national economy affects tourism. It records that the development of tourism has a specific property, which is a manifestation of the fact that tourism is subject to economic effects less than other sectors of the national economy, which is a significant positive for regional development. The year of 2012 is the model year.

SUMMARY

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, SPECIFICS OF TOURISM IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Due to the economic regression, a significant change in the newly created consumer habits of households cannot be expected in the near future. Owing to the development of revenue and higher expenses on necessary items related to housing, food and financial expenses, households are likely to continue reducing their “discretionary” spending. Tourism is subject to economic influences less than other sectors of the national economy, which is proved by the analysis of the development of tourism in 2012 – 2013. From this analysis it follows, in relation to the development of the national economy, that it is necessary to promote the development of tourism, especially in regions that are prone to rising unemployment in the times of recession.
