Abstract
This paper analyzes the contemporary economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Islamic countries. In recent years, there have been major changes in regional development and orientation of foreign trade of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to irregularity of relations in the internal market, rational behavior of most economic activities, impact of economic policies and measures brought in the country, as well as situation and relations in world economic division of labor and international economic and political relations. For a more complex assessment of the importance and role of Islamic countries in the world relations, more precise and more comprehensive research of the economic, social, political, geographical and other characteristics of Islamic countries is needed. This knowledge is absolutely necessary if planning a longer-term strategy of economic cooperation with these markets, or at least aspiring better contacts, exchanges and cooperation.

Key words
Economy, regional development, policies, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Islamic countries
